In Kohala on the Big Island, a statue of King Kamehameha, who unified the seven islands of Hawaii by about 1810.
The statue is across the street from the local library.
The Visitor Center is also the Senior citizens center in Kohala. Formerly a government building for the town. We met some nice local seniors there.
A beautiful, huge, old tree on the grounds of the Visitor Center. Ferns were growing from crevices in the tree.
